Tuchel Questions Wembley Crowd Support Following Dominant Win Over Wales.

The England head coach voiced his disappointment that the England team did not get stronger support from the Wembley fans during their commanding friendly win against Wales on Thursday evening.

Tuchel was happy to see his side showcase their good form, with finishes from Morgan Rogers, Watkins, and Saka inside the first 20 minutes effectively ending the match. But, he was not content with the mood at the national stadium.

“With one and a half sessions to prepare against a organized team and we performed excellently,” the coach stated. “We could have been five goals ahead at half-time. We missed the fourth and fifth goals. The stadium was silent. We didn’t get support from the crowd. Our team gave their all to win.”

“How much more can you provide in the first quarter? We prevented them escape. When you only hear just Wales fans for half an hour, it’s disappointing because the squad earned better encouragement today.”

“I maintain this statement. There’s nothing more than being 3-0 in a rivalry match. I would have wished for a greater backing in periods where it gets difficult.”

“After halftime, to get behind us, there was a bit too much backing for the opposition. It might have aided us to regain energy, but that’s the way it went and that is it.”

Squad Decisions Vindicated by Performance

Apart from risking a fight with fans, the manager also caused a stir by excluding Bellingham and Phil Foden from his squad. But the choice was justified by Morgan Rogers impressing again in the No 10 position and netting his first international goal.

“That’s his style,” the head coach said. “He is a No 10 and he is vying for his position.”

Bellamy Seeks Lessons from Loss

Craig Bellamy expressed hope that Wales, who host Belgium in a important World Cup qualifier on Monday, take lessons from their poor first-half display.

“That’s the reason I scheduled this match,” Bellamy stated. “I need to see where we are. Where do we want to go? Who do we want to be? This performance gives me motivation.”

Fitness Worry for Watkins

Ollie Watkins was withdrawn at half-time after hitting a post and is a concern when England play Latvia in the Latvian capital in a qualifier on next week.
